If you’ve been looking for the 2016 version of Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn’s Wedding Crashers, look no further. Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates is the film you’ve been waiting for.
Zac Efron and Adam Devine star as the Stangle brothers start off every party with the best intentions and usually end up blowing stuff up, seriously injuring someone, or both. With their sister’ wedding date looming, their parents demand that Dave and Mike find wedding dates in hopes that two nice, sensible women will keep the brothers in check. I think we all know that’s not gonna happen.
Mike and Dave appear on The Wendy Williams Show, because apparently it’s really easy to get on her show, and state their mission to find wedding dates for their sister’s big day in Hawaii. Aubrey Plaza and Anna Kendrick play Alice and Tatiana, the female versions of Mike and Dave, who come up with a plan to appear presentable in an effort to get an all-expenses-paid trip to Hawaii. Side note, there should be a dating site for people going to destination weddings. We would totally swipe right for that.
Idiotsitter star Stephen Root plays Burt, the father to Mike and Dave. You can catch Adam Devine a new episodes of Workaholics every Thursday at 10E/7P followed by new episodes of Idiotsitter at 10:30E/7:30P on Much. Catch up on episodes online anytime at Much.com/Shows.
Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates hits theaters on July 8 a.k.a. prime wedding season.
To promote the new film, last night’s special episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden featured appearances from the film’s stars, including Zac Efron, Adam Devine and Anna Kendrick. Along with host Corden, the foursome honoured Super Bowl 50 by hilariously re-creating every sports movie seven minutes.
